Among the many laurels received by the capstone in the trilogy, The Return of the King was nominated for 11 Oscars and won all 11, which tied it with Ben-Hur and Titanic for biggest hauls ever. That completed the $1,120,000,000 it made at the box office. The final installment presents the final confrontation between the forces of good and evil fighting for control of the future of Middle-earth. Hobbits Frodo and Sam reach Mordor in their quest to destroy the One Ring while Aragorn leads the forces of good against Sauron's evil army at the stone city of Minas Tirith.
