Crossings: Latin Literature in Dialogue with Other Disciplines

Location: Notre Dame Rome

An international team of classical scholars is gathering at Notre Dame Rome to reconsider Latin literature beyond the boundaries of traditional classics. Crossings brings together an elite lineup of scholars from the USA (Grillo and Krebs) and from Rome (Berno, Stok, Cucchiarelli, LaBua, Nocchi and Casali) to explore how Latin texts intersect, influence, and challenge other academic fields. From lexicography to reception, from religious practices to cognitive sciences and theater, this conference uncovers the vibrant, multidisciplinary impact of the Latin world. The presentations bridge intellectual gaps and engage in vital dialogue about the enduring reach of Latin literature. The conference has been supported by the Notre Dame Franco Institute for Liberal Arts.
