Study Break: Mindful Moment with a Work of Art

-

Location: Raclin Murphy Museum of Art (View on map )

Two people contemplate a framed painting of a landscape. The artwork depicts a path winding through a green field, leading towards trees and a hazy, yellow-orange sky. The words "Study Break" appear in red script across the bottom of the image, followed by "MINDFUL MOMENT with a WORK OF ART" in white block letters against a teal-grey background.
Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's "House in Sertig." A white, three-story house with green shutters and a brown roof stands at the center. A vibrant yellow tree flanks its right side. A curved path leads to the house, bordered by a reddish-purple wall and dark green foliage. The sky is a dynamic mix of teal, grey, and pinkish-purple, with a streak of bright yellow emanating from behind the house, creating a dramatic backdrop.

Join us for a guided exploration of a single work of art currently on view in the Museum. In this short exploration of Gabrielle Münter’s Red Cloud, we invite you to slow down and engage more deeply with what you see. Led by a member of our Museum staff, this session will employ mindfulness techniques to enhance your appreciation and connection with the painting. We will gather by the Welcome Desk in the Atrium before going into the galleries. All are welcome.
