Join us for an afternoon of inspiring experiences celebrating the power of stories in books and works of art.

  • Duncan Tonatiuh, an award-winning author and illustrator, will be doing read-alouds at 2:00 p.m. in English and at 3:00 p.m. in Spanish. A book signing will follow each read-aloud. A limited number of Tonatiuh’s books will be available for purchase on site from Brain Lair Books.
  • Print and collage your own work of art inspired by Tonatiuh’s illustrations and the prints of Mexican artist José Guadalupe Posada (1852–1913).
  • Find your rhythm with a performance by Tierra Viva Danza Folklorica.
  • Be serenaded by classical guitarist Benito Salazar in our International Modern and Contemporary Galleries.
  • Explore ancient and contemporary works of art in the Mesoamerican galleries and prints by Posada in the Teaching Gallery.
  • Enjoy complimentary tacos from La Parilla Caliente's food truck.

This event is free and open to all.
